The YQM308 series is a large-sized passive MHz surface-mount crystal, specifically developed to address urgent supply shortages caused by the discontinuation of certain imported product lines. For instance, EPSON's MA-406 model ceased production and supply years ago, driven by the overarching trend in the crystal industry: miniaturization. As a result, bulkier crystal oscillators are gradually being phased out. This shift is evident in EPSON’s current recommendations for compact alternatives like the FA-238, FA-238V, FA-20H, and FA-128 series. However, it is critical to emphasize that adopting these smaller form factors necessitates a complete PCB redesign.
For customers unable to redesign their circuit boards yet requiring a direct pin-to-pin replacement, the YQM308 serves as the ideal solution. Standard production lead time is 6–8 weeks.
